Book Description

“In today's wars, there are no morals. We believe the worst thieves in the world today and the worst terrorists are the Americans. We do not have to differentiate between military or civilian. As far as we are concerned, they are all targets.”
-Osama bin Laden

Sometime in the near future, a dying woman is discovered in New York City – infected with Smallpox. As the disease starts to spread, it is discovered that terrorists have unleashed a biological weapon on the American population – and brought the world to the brink of Armageddon.

Against this backdrop, an extraordinary cast of men and women fight desperately for survival in a world gone mad. Doctor Nicolas Awad struggles desperately to contain and control the outbreak; President Paula Handley struggles to rally the shattered country for war and preserve something of the American way of life. On the streets of New York, Sergeant Al Hattlestad and the NYPD try to keep order and save as many as possible, while survivalist Jim Revells takes his family and tries to hide from the chaos.

But the nightmare has only just begun...

More About the Author

Christopher Nuttall has been planning sci-fi books since he learned to read. Born and raised in Edinburgh, Chris created an alternate history website and eventually graduated to writing full-sized novels. Studying history independently allowed him to develop worlds that hung together and provided a base for storytelling. After graduating from university, Chris started writing full-time. As an indie author, he has published ten novels (so far) through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. The Royal Sorceress is his first novel to be professionally published. Chris is currently living in Borneo with his partner, muse, and critic Aisha.

Christopher's novel, The Royal Sorceress, will be published by Elsewhen Press in paperback in Feb.

Chris has a blog where he published updates, snippets and world-building notes at http://chrishanger.wordpress.com/ and a website at http://www.chrishanger.net.

As a matter of principle, all of Chris's self-published Kindle books are DRM-free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly chilling 16 Aug. 2014

Another brilliantly written novel by Christopher Nuttall, one of the best yet relatively unknown authors I've found since owning my kindle. He writes fantastic yet plausible scenarios that we hope never to have to face.
Depressing yet relatively cheering too for it shows that the human spirit will survive no matter what faces us in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read 9 Nov. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another well written book by Christopher Nuttall.
After reading his Empire Corps Series I decided to see what else he had written and so far I have not been disappointed. Only complaint is I started to read this book on my day off, it's now 4pm, I've finished the book without putting it down, missed lunch and my day off is mostly over, so engrossed in a we'll presented scenario that time slipped by.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant novel 26 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Smallpox makes a surprising comeback in this gripping and realistic novel. Christopher Nuttall does not hold back when describing the affects of smallpox on a nation and it does leave you feeling powerless to those that 'experiment' on bio weapons.

A really good read - I would highly recommend this to any fan of the apocalypse.

reading it now, so a short review so I can get back to reading it some more. Always wondered what would kick the USA into action. This is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling, and well written 13 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Held my attention right through. If any details were wrong, I didn't spot them. Makes me want to read something else by Christopher Nuttall. I've read quite a few and liked them all. This story is fairly grim and dark, but (to me) it had a feel of reality and gritty realism about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another good one 11 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a jolly good story and well worth reading but if this scenario came to be, the world would end as no government could act so swiftly and so decisively as the USA but this is fiction so read and enjoy.
