I bought this book for research purposes. It is very informative and interesting - it was written in a really accessible way, almost like a novel. It provides a very interesting insight into the life of the courtesans. Recommended.

This is an intriguing look at society at that time in France. However I have to say it left me feeling that these women, overall, had rather sad lives on the whole. However a good read historically!
