At first, I thought 'Great, this seems like it's going to be good,' boy, was I wrong. This book gets three stars because it started okay, but I felt like giving it two. There is absolutely no chemistry between the two main characters, in fact, they barely seem to like each other. The plot is thin, and intensely boring, with few turns or points of interest to keep it crawling along. The world it occurs in had potential, but the author ruined the atmosphere by making it all seem so trivial. To me, this seems like the kind of book someone who hardly ever reads might enjoy - that is, someone who has no experience of something better.
I found myself liking the baddie far more than the two surprisingly dull main characters (considering they are supposed to be creatures of myth, they seem a lot like extras on a sitcom), and hoping he might just obliterate them to put me out of my misery. Unfortunately, I find myself wishing I had bought 'that other book,' instead of adding a valued piece to my library. Take my advice: don't waste your time.
