I have all the Jim Reeves "real" country tracks on vinyl in the loft and had his magnificent "Good 'n' Country" album on CD. I was never able to get all of his "real" country tracks on CD. This fills the gap with gems like " Blue Side of Lonesome" - "Railroad Bum" - "Waitin' for a Train" etc. This is JR at his country best, his voice has matured and the country musicians superb. Originally released on RCA Camden prior to his breakthrough with the slushy but very commercially successful "Nashville Sound" that made him so famous. Cost me a lot, £40, so only 4* but an ambition has been fulfilled - 50 years on !International Jim Reeves, the/Good 'n' Country

This is Jim Reeves displaying that deep velvet voice to its best.
Accompanied by some outstanding country musicians and spine tingling steel guitar.
The version of "Am I Losing You" & "Fallen Star" must rate as all time great vocals in music history with magnificent backing vocals that strike deep at the heart strings.
Up tempo numbers like "yonder comes a sucker" & "Railroad Bum" go along at a wonderful pace to beautifully compliment the slower tracks.
This is an album that makes you want to weep to know Gentleman Jim is no longer with us.
Magnificent

I was very disappointed with the download of this album as the recording has been sped up and therefore hardly sounds like Jim Reeves as his voice is deep, velvety and rich on the original recording. Will be requesting my money back from Amazon....
