Very detailed so should help greatly in not getting lost. If/when we do get lost, we should soon be able to figure out where we are based on the detail on the map. Map however is absolutely huge, so will need to buy a map protector and open the map to appropriate part for our walk.

Easy to use map for walkers to get an overview of landscapes, walking paths and roads. Very accurate... I guess 98% up to date.

Excellent for finding your way around 'off the beaten track', BUT of course it is double sided and inevitably you need to turn the map inside out at some point during your trip . . . not easy in the confines of a car on a single track road with no passing point handy, or out walking in a high wind.
It covers the whole of the cotswolds and we found it perfectly acceptable for both car trips and hiking round the footpaths.

Used this map for a walking holiday in the Cotswolds. Very useful as showed all the different footpaths and ways. Let us decide 'on the hoof' where to go and whether to make a diversion. With hindsight, would have bought the plasticised version as the paper one was very worn by the end of the week, but other than that, very pleased.

using the os range of maps makes me laugh sometimes for people who have listened to their sat nav and continued to drive into water and into holes and other things despite what their eyes are telling them-with ground level maps like these you can actually see what you are getting before you decide to take it

Up to OS standards as expected. Very fast delivery and good price. Paper version ok for motoring but may be a bity fragile for more exposed forms of transport. The mill next door to the cottages on the cover in Lower Slaughter is well worth a visit.

If I had the money I would buy every OS Explorer map there was. They are really useful for understanding the area you are in. Don't just rely on computer screens on mobile phone maps, these give you a much better understanding of the overall area.

In planning for a future walk along the Cotswold Way, I bought this map hurriedly and mistakenly thinking it covered the whole trail. It doesn't, so beware. This in no way reflects on the usual OS quality or Amazon's prompt delivery.

Not sure whether Amazon sell cheap because they get second rate product but the paper quality of this map is poor - with the map splitting along the crease(s) after just one moderate outing. This isnt what you usually get from OS>

We're blessed in the UK in that we can get excellent topographic maps at all scales. The 1:25,000 is excellent for travelling, walking, cycling or a weekend break. Superb value, given the quality and scholarly input involved.
