The Corrs have complemented a fistful of originals with selected covers to make for a gratifying listen on their latest release, The Corrs, MTV Unplugged. i thoroughly enjoy this CD everyday, from the angel-like vocal harmonies to the instrumental mastery. Hearing Sharon's violin in a live setting enhances the matchless brilliance of the Corrs music. The same can be said of Jim's guitars and piano; Caroline's impeccable beat keeping, and Andrea's vocals and tin whistle. A delight on the CD is Caroline and Sharon's interpretation of No Frontiers. Of corrs, we know all sisters can carry a tune, but this is splendid, indeed. Personal favorites on the CD; Radio - great melancholy tune with Caroline keeping a catchy beat. (I love the drums in this song). By Your Side; enchanting harmonies, and a welcomed sentiment. Old Town is entertaining, right down to the trumpet solo and the 'Hola!' Everybody Hurts has been a favorite song of mine since REM originally released it. It is now that much more endearing to me with the Corrs' cover. The live version of Forgiven Not Forgotten is haunting, sending shivers up my spine with the violin and tin whistle . The Queen of Hollywood is sung passionately, desperately. So Young is just fun, no matter how you hear it, remixed, live, or acoustically. i could go on and on, and relate favorite parts of each song, but you're best to pickup the CD yourself, place it in your player, turn the lights down, and let yourself be taken along on a wonderfully, peaceful journey.
The Corrs MTV Unplugged blesses fans with the appetizer needed to sustain them until the next entrée of a new release.
Thank-you very much, Corrs! Your fans are satisfied and indebted.
