About the Author

Valeri Valeriano and Christina Ong left the Philippines in 2008 to work in the UK in the medical field. After learning how to make cupcake bouquets in 2011 they launched their business Queen of Hearts Couture Cakes and have since won several top awards for their buttercream designs. Fully recommended!!

I wish I had this book when I first started.
Full of wonderful ideas & helpful tips that I've not seen in any other book. The ladies explain certain 'Cake Dec' phrases and equipment that, when I began.. not only did I not understand but I had to try & find out about them myself - Confusing.

If you are a beginner and wish to introduce yourself into the world of cake decorating & have your work show the "WOW" factor then THE BUTTERCREAM BIBLE is that book.

A must for anyone who wants to make stunningly different cakes. We had been waiting for this to come out for some time and the day after it arrived my son and his girlfriend made a beautiful flower cake - Valerie and Christina are amazing teachers and their unique methods, generously shared in the book, translate off the page with incredible results. This is a great book for those who want a comprehensive guide to decorating cakes with buttercream. It gives some good basic recipes but also explains how to achieve some stunning, complicated designs that require a great deal of skill. I had books on decorating with fondant but wanted one where I could decorate a cake with just buttercream and this book covered it well. It's shows you basic covering upwards. For me it was a helpful guide and easily understandable . This book would be great for beginners upwards. I was very happy with this book and hope to transfer this knowledge to a cake soon.

Lovely designs and illustrations although I haven't actually tried to do any of the designs yet. Some nice tips and tricks too. A great book to curl up with and plan what you'll do when you get around to it.
