I bought this cookbook when I lived in South Africa in the early 80's and I still use it in the UK today. Several of our family favourites came from this book; custard biscuits, chicken liver pate with brandy, curried peaches as an accompaniment to meat. I could go on. Fabulous book

A 'must have' South African cookbook! Only improvement would be coloured pictures but obviously that would increase the price!

I bought this hoping that it would contain a lot of traditional South African recipes but it is more of an instructional book. That is the only reason I have given it 4 instead of 5 stars.
