People, real people, will buy this disc and love it - Mark Stone and Stephen Barlow have brought Roger Quilter back to life in such a stylish and vibrant manner, and reminded us all just what a great and glorious musical herritage we have. As for the performance, I can't imagine anything better - Mark Stone's voice is so beautiful with a richly tarnished golden hue, and impeccable diction. Not only does he sing the songs as though they were written for him, but Stephen Barlow accompanies almost as though I imagine Quilter himself to be at the piano. This disc is glorious - Quilter would be over the moon - that's for sure!
