5.0 out of 5 stars Good comprehensive introduction 10 May 2011
Format:Hardcover
This book covers drawing, watercolour, acrylics and oils within those covering all the basics of line, colour, composition, perspective without being overwhelming.
It is packed full of projects and well illustrated with each project broken down, using thumbnails, to show each stage. Makes you want to get going straight away. I also like the fact there are 'gallery' examples from established artists.

This is ideal if you need help and tips on painting and drawing, I have found this book very useful as I hadn't really drawn anything for a few years and it has helped me to get back into it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Many Parts! 27 May 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love my watercolour workshop books by Glynis Barnes Mellish but i am less happy with this book incorporating part of her previous editions. Not because the material is bad, but because it is now too heavy and too unwieldy to take out on site and even difficult to keep open on a table because it is so big the pages flip back - the copy, photos and other material is all fine - it just needs to be unbound again and sold - as it used to be - in separate pieces!
