Book Description

14 Aug 2014
This book will get sewing machine users thinking about machine embroidery, using ready-made designs, in a whole new light. It provides everything you need to know, from the types and formats of embroidery design available, how to get them off the internet and into your machine, how to stabilize fabric, which threads and needles to use to get the best results, and of course how to use these designs creatively for beautiful results. It will also help you make the most of the built-in embroidery stitches that most sewing machines offer, but which are mostly forgotten about! Also included is an invaluable quick reference section, with expert advice on troubleshooting some common problems, and a guide to what to look for if you are thinking of buying one of these fabulous machines.

Review

Summer 2014 If you only arm yourself with one book for your journey as a machine embroiderer this will have to be the one. Liz carries through the meticulous attention to detail we have come to expect trough her projects in Flair magazine. The nine chapters cover everything you need to know to produce perfect projects. Right from the basics of what these fantastic 'sewing' machines can offer you and what level of machine would suit, through clear descriptions of the basics of the process, to what tools and supplies you ought to invest in, and which are superfluous. She also cracks the mystique of the computerised aspect so that you'll soon be happily downloading, editing and designing to unleash your inner creativity. If you absorb the background knowledge of this book and add it to the projects you find in Flair magazine there will be no stopping the machine embroidery you. - Flair

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for all Machine Embroidery fanatics 19 Aug 2014
Fantastic book for beginners and accomplished Machine Embroiderers alike. I have been looking for a book that has this range of information in the UK for years and this is the first book I have found that answers all those tricky questions you come across when you delve into the delights of Machine Embroidery. Thank you Liz for a truly genius book.
