This is a very superficial sort of book; it does tend to trivialise Zen. I suppose it does give a good overview of Zen practices but it is aimed fairly and squarely at the American market. So- rather predictably- its main focus is on improving workplace productivity, "managing your career" etc etc. No mention of ever having to change or give up your present lifestyle. Of course if you are a stressed "hockey mom", struggling to fit everything in that busy workaday schedule, there are small soundbites just for you, too.
So, once again, we have an American "self- improvement" book, wrapped up and disguised as a serious look at Zen, -whereas it is anything but.
