The author appears to educate you through the eyes of her own personal experiences - which makes this book quite readable.
Whilst it covers most of the basics quite well, it would have been nice to delve into more detail in certain areas.
For instance, I would have liked to see more on property law (from the landlords and tenants perspective) and more on how to go about evaluating a potential investment decision (eg. tax implications, yield analysis, return on capital, effective investment strategies, etc).
In any case, a good starter book for anyone thinking about getting involved with Buy-To-Let ventures.

This book contains a lot of useful information and I'm sure the author knows her stuff. However, there are 19 pages of advertising at the beginning of the book, and another 41 pages distributed throughout the rest of it (wooden flooring, buy-to-let mortgages, etc). I found this to be both intrusive and distracting.

There is also a bias towards renting 1-bed flats to young professionals, which seems a narrow approach. I would expect a "Complete Guide" to something to take a much broader view, and I am therefore returning this book.
