I am trained in floristry, so when I look for a book on flowers I am looking for fresh ideas, something that will inspire and excite me. This book does all of that. Jane's innovative and informal approach to flower arranging is I feel a must for an arranger's book case, although it will not be there much, being in use most of the time. Perfect for the beginner as well as the expert it is packed with excellent photographs and instructions. It takes you from the very beginning in the choice of foliage, flowers, colour, balance, and style, to finished product. There are plant arrangements as well as fresh and dried flower arrangements in abundance. Included are special occasions and weddings. There is an excellent section on materials and skills, an easy to negotiate contents page, good index and a very useful glossary of flowers.
It is most definitely a very welcome addition to my library of books.

This is a great guide to flower arranging. It covers many styles from traditional and formal to relaxed contemporary. Jane Packer demonstrates the rules of flower arranging clearly and concisely - she also tells you how to break them for a modern, individual look. It contains everything from a simple ribbon-tied posy to large scale festive and formal displays. I would recommend it for anyone who wants that extra confidence in flower arranging for their home, special occasions or gift giving.
