About the Author
Tony Whieldon has been fishing since boyhood. He grew up in an area of trout streams and country estate lakes, so it is hardly surprising that he was bitten by the fishing bug so early. His favourite pursuits include fly fishing for trout, float fishing for roach and tench and trying to outwit grey mullet. Over the years, he has produced a wealth of illustrations for fishing magazines and books as well as privately commissioned paintings.

I purchased this book two days ago to use with a group of 14yrs-17yrs to learn fishing. It is well presented and a brilliant book to inspire and inform young people who do not want to read. The text is pleasantly styled as a handwriiten journal and the illustrations in b&w are of a high standard, clear and user-friendly. Well done to Tony Whieldon, author. All my group need now are the rods....

I read this book as a child and remember how fascinating it was. Now as an adult I find it equally interesting and informative.
The book tells you just what you need to know and the majority of information is put across in wonderful diagrams accompanied with short descriptions, so it's really easy to read and use as a reference.
It really is a great book for anyone who's new to fishing, and I think experts will also pick up the occasional useful tip.
