Book Description

Waldo 'D.R.' Dobbs (the 'D.R.' stands for 'Diminished Responsibility') and Ernest Errol Quinch are a pair of alien students with an unhealthy appetite for destruction. With a lust for wealth, power, fast cars and huge weaponry, trouble is never far away... This complete collection also includes D.R. and Quinch's Agony Page, never before reprinted.

One of Alan Moore's fairly early works, and among them only really bettered by The Ballad of Halo Jones and V for Vendetta. The story of two alien delinquents with a destruction addiction is just pure, ludicrous FUN, and absolutely hilarious. Do yourself a favour and buy this.

The only reason it doesn't get the full five stars is because some of the reproduction is really not as good as it could be, which is a shame (and there's really no excuse, given that earlier editions were fine) and it all ends far too soon.

Messed up masterpiece 10 Sep 2007
Format:Paperback
One of the great 2000ad strips ruined by a terrible reprint that loses all the detail of the original artwork. Avoid this and buy the earlier version.

Ee-ouk! 18 Aug 2008
Format:Paperback
Brilliantly funny - and very silly - the adventures of the revolting Waldo "D.R." ("Diminished Responsibility") Dobbs and Ernest Quinch represent some of the best stories of their type from the early days of "2000AD". Moore's scripts are perfectly realised by Alan Davies' art as our "heroes" progress from the throwaway protagonists of a one-off "Time Twister" to fully-fledged stars. With digs at teen romance, the Vietnam War, celebrity and Hollywood (particularly apt in retrospect, considering Moore's now legendary contempt for the movies industry), the pair battle petty bureaucats, psychotic ex-girlfiends and deranged war veterans in universe dotted with some very familiar faces (the Marlon Brando cameo is now legendary).
A great collection of stories by a writer and artist on absolutely top form - an "must" purchase!

Still very funny..
Some parts of the artwork haven't reproduced very well, but this is still hilarious the second time round. Alan Moore at his best, before he got serious.

Not Alan Moore's best but, at the level of student humour, it can be very funny.

Genius
Alan Moores funniest writing. More famous for 'From Hel', and 'Watchmen', DR & Quinch was one of Alan Moores earliest works (1983!), and remains his funniest writing. Read more
