The British Government had "Men in Black" such as wing commander Myles Formby investigating people who claimed to have had strange encounters and this is explored in Jenny's readable book "The truth behind the men in black". Further to this The Ministry of Defense took the time to look into the case of the 'Cumbrian Spaceman and Fireman Jim Templeton' and Jenny reviews such cases as these in this book. A lot of other cases are reviewed, warts and all, including accounts by former British Police Officers such as Alan Godfrey and 'Philip Spencer'. Having taken on-board descriptions of abductions and contacts you are naturally awaiting a logical conclusion to what is being reported. Alas, Jenny presents several solutions. You can judge for yourself given the information between the covers, "what is the most likely scenario?". For those readers who would like explore the possible root causes, then look no further than "The complete Book of Aliens and Abductions" also by Jenny.

I guess that any book titled "The Complete ..." will probably turn out like this. A basic primer on a topic that centres on the particular perspective of the author. It has a few good titbits, but is mostly just a general overview of the topic rather than an in depth "Timothy Good" style book.

OK if you're looking for some light reading on the topic of Alien Abductions, but not so good if you want to write a paper on them.

The author also seems to focus early-on on so called "Psychic" abductions. Which seem indistinguishable from hoaxes\tall tails, as at best they are just cases where somebody claims to have been abducted by aliens, when in fact people are there watching them and see that they didn't go anywhere.

I'm not certain why anybody wanting to make a credible case would even include them. If anything they have been proved not to be alien abductions by the very fact that the person wasn't actually abducted. At best they are alien hallucinations.
