I bought this in 1992 and still think that at even two hours long it is a great insight into the Beatles. In terms of music alone you get the Fab Four playing Some Other Guy, a live version of Yesterday (long before YouTube this was worth the money alone) and live performances of Nowhere Man, If I Needed Someone and I saw Her Standing there.

We also have interviews from many "insiders" such as George Martin, Gerry Marsden, Billy J Kramer, Bill Harry, Marianne Faithfull and Billy Preston. This video was far ahead of its time and made the later Anthology stuff seem rather self indulgent and only interested in making money.

As a concise history of the Fab Four look no further.

Definitive Beatles 16 April 2009
Format:VHS Tape
Contains interviews with all the important movers and shakers and is quite simply the best and most informative documentary about the fab four ever made, unless you include the Anthology series which included direct participation from Paul, George and Ringo, but for some reason was rather dull and not nearly as memorable as this.

So is it really gonna kill them to put this remarkable film out on DVD? Oh and by the way, that is not how we spell 'complete' over here my American friend.

By Geoffrey Millar TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:VHS Tape
Before 'Anthology' came out, this two-hour documentary was the best video history of The Beatles you could get,and it's still enjoyable and informative viewing.,

Narrated by Malcolm McDowell, the important bits of Beatle history are covered. The program has a good selection of film, some decent background and context and interviews with people like George Martin, although no contemporary interviews with the group. As far as I can tell, all the Beatles footage in this video is included in 'Anthology.

The sound is OK for an old VHS tape but not up to modern DVD quality.
