Pretty good collection of tunes from The Teardrops. The first seven songs are brilliant - each one leaps from the hi-fi at an almighty pace! However, then we come to 'Rachel Built A Steamboat' - it has to be said that this track is AWFUL. I find it difficult to understand why it was included, particularly as it completely ruins the effect of the previous 7 songs. However, the rest of the album is fine and there is only track 11 'Windowshopping For A New Crown Of Thorns' to complain about (again, why was this included? As something that people may not have heard before, maybe? Who cares, give us something that we'd like to hear). If these 2 bad tracks could have been replaced by say 'You Disappear From View' or 'Sleeping Gas' etc etc, then this album would have got a full 5 stars. Shame really - however, a fine compilation from a fine band!

all teardrops fans will want this cd because it includes rare b sides previously unavailable on cd.
rachel and crown of thorns were only on long deleted 12" singles.
which is obviously the only reason this cd exists.

I bought this CD because I liked the big hits [eg Treason, Reward and Passionate Friend] and thought that I may therefore like the rest of the tracks. Unfortunately, they are pretty dire and forgettable.
