A Fine Collection! 27 May 2008
Format:Audio CD
This compilation is a fine overview of Lulu's recordings from her time with Mickie Most records which spanned the years, 1967-1968 and saw the pop diva score 7 top 40 hits in the UK and a no.1, "To Sir With Love" in the USA.
This new collection includes all of her hits from this period making it a very strong CD, riding high on good material plus many album tracks which really should recieve more praise. As a bonus, you have forgein versons of "Boom Bang-A Bang" and the hard to find, "Are You Ready For Love".
This is a good start from everyone who is a newbie fan of Lulu and looking for a good overview of her most successful period as a recording artist. It is also very cheap at the price and I personally love the photo on the cover, this is a very good release in all.

Instead of this tired compilation, Buy the U.S. CD on Taragon Records "To Sir With Love: The Best Of 1967-1968" and get viryually all original hit tracks in newly mixed stereo, from the original multi-track masters for incredible sound...some hits like "I'm A Tiger" have never been released anywhere else in the world in stereo....except on the Taragon CD! Check it out....

Excellent cd. I first heard most of these songs 30years ago on my mum's LP. I used to play and play lulu's songs. i have often thought over the years i must try and get lulu's songs on a cd and finally i have. I'm sure all of her cds are great but i particular wanted this one. It still sounds as great as it did all those years ago. Fabulous singer. The songs LETS PRETEND, TO SIR WITH LOVE, DREARY NIGHTS stand out most but all the other song on this album are great.Just what i wanted.
