Normalman was perhaps the best thing besides Journey and Cerebus's "High Society" storyline to come out of Renegade Press. This was Jim Valentino at his best, long before he got bogged down with Image Comics and that moronic Shadowhawk junk. With Normalman, he's a Fred Hembeck for the modern age of comics, a Roy Thomas taking delight in honoring and using all the conventions of the super-hero comic to the best comedic effect. Captain Everything is one of the truly great humor comic characters. Valentino's attention to detail in his art homages, from Harvey Comics to Steranko to Elfquest, is simply amazing! He gets it right and this story fires on all cylinders. It also included a lot of ad artwork, covers, and several later stories featuring Norm and Cap, including ones with Megaton Man and the Flaming Carrot. There is NOTHING not to like about this book!
