There is not so much colour in this book which usually evokes a moan from me but in this case it is virtually irrelevant. Beardsley was a master of the economical, fluid naked line, needing no shading or colour for emphasis. He did lots of book illustrations and posters by commission without ever turning into a journeyman.
His work still baffles art stusents today with the question of how he was able to leave so much detail out and still provide a full statement of artistic intent and draughtsmanship of the highest calibre

The Collected Drawings Of Aubrey Beardsley.

This is a beautiful collection of works . I was very lucky to purchase my book at a very reasonable price! . I adored all of the collection in this book and it has given me many ideas for future sculpture .

From the dream like exotic and erotic, kinky and fetish! to, the sedate and homely ,almost, it seems . It is all contained in this delightful collection .

A must for an evening browse and for any art lover , if it is not already in his or her collection .

Good packaging , with no damage to the cover of the book, arrived on time .

Excellent collection of drawings by mr Beardsley. Having purchased a used one I was dubious of the quality, because the new ones were 90% more in price, but it is in excellent condition and seems to be one of the first editions. All in very pleased with layout, paper quality and collection of drawings.

Aubrey Beardsley was a major influence on many art students in the 1960s both here and in the US. However because of the nature of many of the drawings books of his work are not that easy to find today.
This book, although secondhand, arrived in near perfect condition. There were many drawings I knew but also very many that I didn't;.and this was a delight. Beardsley's line and self assurance are outstanding for such a young artist and it is no wonder he became so famous in his own short lifetime. This book was a Christmas present from my wife and I am very happy with it and the seller's performance
