With his trademark top hat, black cape and talon-like fingernails, Coffin Joe is a horror icon in his own right. Whilst as a director, Marins has an unrelentingly original and outlandishly personal filmmaking style that can only be compared to a dep Films Comprise: 1. Great box set 30 Aug 2011
By JJ
Format:DVD
I have been a fan of Marins films for the past few years now. I am in the US and it's practically impossible to get a boxed set of these films over here (without paying hundreds of dollars). You need a region 2 player for this set. These films are graphic, bizarre exploitation films. I suggest you see a film before purchasing as they are not for everyone. The quality of the set is good, copies of the films are better than what they ever play on IFC.

Due to the previous poor reviews of this box set criticising the transfers, I held back from buying it for over a year. However I eventually took the plunge - and I'm very glad I did. The quality of the transfers is absolutely fine. No problems whatsoever. I recommend this set whole heartedly - we are very lucky to have these rare films available in the UK.

Those transfers manage to be worse than the ones from the Brazilian Box Set (that I own). Anchor Bay seriously dropped the ball on this one.
