We got a Clumsies book as a freebie with a magasine, so to be honest, I didn't expect it to be up-to-much. I was so, so wrong.
It is beautifully written, the characters come-to-life from the pages, and my five-year-old son laughs aloud (as do I actually) at the plot. It's the only series of books where, in our house, the parent who has the night off from storytelling, comes-in to hear the story because they don't want to miss the next instalment. We had a 'family night' recently where when presented with the choice of us all playing on the wii together, or various other options, my son asked if we could have a 'Clumsies' evening. So, parents and boy sat on the sofa, all were given parts, and all had to read their parts 'in character'. And we had to stop because we were laughing so hard :o) Best of all, it's the book which encouraged my son (while aged 5) to start reading on his own.
We have all of the Clumsies books now. We wouldn't be without them. I cannot recommend these books highly enough.

My son is not a big reader and whilst this book might be geared for a slightly younger age, he really enjoyed it and felt very chuffed with himself for reading a whole book in a couple of nights. He even read it to his little sister.
