Synopsis

This title presents dedicated mailing and e-mail campaign to targeted health related media and organisations. While acne has long been a problem for adolescents, in the last few decades, it has become a significant problem for a large number of adults. Many scientists attribute this rise to a considerable change in the dietary habits of the adult population."The Clear Skin Diet" is a practical volume designed to help those who suffer from acne to understand what it is, why they have it, what it has to do with their diet, and what they can do to lessen its impact or prevent it all together. It also provides readers with detailed, easy to digest information on the food groups that can promote or protect against acne and mind-body interventions that can influence acne producing hormones, as well as fifty tasty, acne-prevention recipes.

This is a brilliant, well-researched book. It argues clearly against perpetuated myths negating a link between diet and food. I had always been led to believe diet and acne were not linked; that it is down to hormones. What this book neatly points out is that our diet affects our hormones as well as contributing to other aspects of our health. I have been following the principles for a couple of weeks and my skin does seem to be improving - and with all the spinach and wholegrains I must be brimming with health!

Diet can help acne 1 July 2011
Format:Hardcover
My wife suffers from acne. She had tried many different treatment options with more or less success. getting this book was a turning point for her. We had never thought of diet as acne fighting solution but she was adamant about sticking with the advice found her and her acne seems to be clearing up. So, at this point I would recommend it.

This is a really important book - and one which should be more familiar to dermatologists.

I've had acne since age 11, and was always told that diet is completely unrelated to acne. I believed that well into my 20s, when I came across a book which bucked the mainstream medical establishment and said that there is a link. I've tried all sorts of treatments over the years, and while they did work, diet modification was the second most effective of all the treatments I've tried (very high doses of anti-androgens being the most effective - but this isn't a practical solution for men, and probably isn't that healthy for women).

Diet does affect acne, and if you are willing to put in the effort and sacrifice a bit of junk (even some things we don't normally consider to be junk, like cheese and other dairy), you will see dramatic improvements in your complexion.

Highly recommended.
