Ivan Meets Tokyo Joe! 20 Jan 2009
By T. Satchwell VINE™ VOICE
This is another live TV performance ..this one from Japanese TV.
Got this years ago on a dodgy VHS from Camden Market...nice to get a digital copy. The filming isn't great..a little shaky here and there...but it certainly captures the band live and sweating.
Some great cool stage gear too.
The First Ex Mrs Simonon makes an appearance for the encores..Pearl Harbor minus the explosions...Like the recent Live In Paris...one for the fans.
The cover is quite striking...but it's Simmo at The RAR gig....which well it was east.....east london...but not the far east.

The Clash in Japan! 1 May 2011
By John
This is a great DVD, the band at their very best with Topper firing on all cylinders. The only shame is it has not been released on Blue Ray, the gig was one of the first outside broadcasts to be recorded in HD, ok it was not in a wide screen format but there is twice the information there; I know I was working on the gig.The Clash In Tokyo [DVD]

Still a bootleg 11 April 2009

This is worth owning for any Clash fan. Period. Having said that this still looks like it was dubbed from a beta or VCR recording. What appear to be stretch marks crop up from time to time. The sound is much improved from previous bootleg versions, and to a degree so is the video [wide screen]. I guess I was wishing for this 2 be an official release from the Clash, transfered from film. Still worth owning 4 sure.

BEST FULL CLASH CONCERT I'VE EVER HEARD 24 Nov 2010
By Horatio B. Weisfeld - Published on Amazon.com
This is the best if you want to see and hear the band in top form for a whole show (and with Topper still at the sticks). I've seen a number of the other live DVDs and they usually only get a couple of songs right -- ON THIS ONE THEY NAIL IT ! The band is so in synch It kinda' all sounds like one long great song. Why they ever release mediocre swill like "Live at Shea Stadium" when they have stuff like this ..I do not know.

"Clash Live: Revolution Rock" is REAL good DVD also (a compilation of various performances at various places) but make sure you use the menu to turn off the (ruinous) "narration" before you begin (because the dingbat will talk over every song if you don't), and remember: The future is un-written.

The Clash in Tokyo!!! 25 Feb 2009
By Michael Bolan - Published on Amazon.com
This has been available on bootleg for many a year and now it's oficially released with all the extras (like good sound and great editing). Pearl E. Gates, aka Pearl Harbour, is in it too and sings "Fujiyama Mama". Topper introduces her and The Clash act as a "support" band to her as they fly through their set. By the way, The Clash are great and this is a wonderful example of them just before they split. The Clash - Live In Tokyo (1982)
