Product Description

Review

An up-to-date overview of the City's role as a financial centre has been missing for too long. Roberts's book fills the gap admirably and will become the standard work of reference. It also makes a very good read, with some trenchant comment on City scandals as well as a welcome historical perspective. (John Plender Financial Times)

an authoritative and comprehensive guide to the UK's financial system. (Philip Coggan Financial Times)

Book Description

Revised and updated, this is a comprehensive guide to the City - its markets, mechanisms and players.

Format: Hardcover
I bought this book and All You Need to Know About the City (All You Need to Know Guides) by Christopher Stoakes, and I would say the latter is better for beginners and the former moves the pace up a gear or two.

The City:A Guide to London's Global Financial Centre (Economist)covers all the key historical financial events, analyses them, and explains why the happened clearly and concise. It's well worth reading, but I would advise people to read All You Need to Know About the City (All You Need to Know Guides)first. Hope this helps.
