I'm afraid this book did not live up to expectations. Having read numerous James Patterson thrillers, I was hugely anticipating something exciting to occur throughout the novel, and kinda realised when I'd read three quarters of the book that the chances of this were getting slimmer and slimmer. The bride -Gaby is re-marrying following the death of her husband three years ago, though she has received proposals from three different guys, so the mystery is which of these guys she has chosen to marry. The guys are all however very nice and perfect suitors and do not have any flaws, thus it is irelevant to the reader as to whom she does choose to marry as she's guaranteed a happy ending whoever she chooses. The novel contains a happy start, middle and finish and not much suspense. I don't think it is worth the £14.99 list price for the hardback.

I so wish James Patterson would write more of these books. I loved Sunday's at Tiffany's, Sam's Letters to Jennifer and Sam's diary for Nicholas and this was just as good.
This is about a mother/grandmother who lost her husband to a heart attack the previous year and gets three wedding proposals (chance would be a fine thing). She decides to get married on Christmas Day and no-one apart from herself knows which one she will marry. She tells her children via video links and asks them all to attend.
The story tells you about Gaby, the mother/grandmother and her three children. What I enjoy about these types of books that James Patterson writes, are the clever words and poignant phrases which really make you think.

I am a huge fan of Patterson, I have most of his books. I think that he is using so many ghost writers now that some of the books do not have his writing style at all. This is one of them. It is silly and is just a waste of time. The story is so far fetched it is ridiculous. Would not recommend this one.

Dreadful disappointment
I love the usual Patterson books (I buy audio), but this left me cold. I expect gritty realism and escapism from JP and he has always provided this before, but not with this book. Read more
