2.0 out of 5 stars Hodge Podge 14 May 2014

I just didn't understand this book. It was suppose to be one book. There was a story in the beginning about some characters who found each other and ended up in a battle but then it jumped to another story and just when I began to know who the characters were it jumped to another story... By then I was frustrated and flipped through all the pages to see if I missed something or maybe somehow all the characters connected some way in another chapter, But it just wasn't the case. Although the characters all were fighting bad guys at some point in the three stories, the thread was never connected.

Although I liked the characters in the first 2 stories, I did not finish the book. The author(s) have talent at with battle scenes and character development however a book should have a beginning a middle and an end with a thread that unites and this one did not.

The book is interesting but you get three starts to stories that must connect sometime in the next book I would hope. I wouldn't recommend this book for a person looking for the end it just stops and you will have too get the other books to find out what happens as of May 20, 2013 they have not been written.

2.0 out of 5 stars Serious pacing issues with the writing 17 Dec. 2013
By Tempting Reviews - Published on

I found it extremely challenging to follow along with the story flow. It jumps around to different places, and the cover has literally nothing to do with the earliest chapters. I also had issues with the fact that apparently, some of the characters can heal anything, including instances where, after a high fall into shallow water, the character's legs "...were floating behind them", with bones and such which indicates that they're completely severed.

Other instances where characters are mauled, etc. are healed with absolutely no risk or danger. It's really frustrating, mostly because while I get that it's a fantasy novel, there should be some sense of believability.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing and Horror Story! 28 Oct. 2014

The Chosen (Rise of Cithria Book 1) by Kris Kramer makes you wish to real the whole series in one go. But the problem is that the full series is not out yet so if you can endure the pain of waiting, then go ahead and read it out. However to be honest, the problem with this book in my opinion is that there are 3 authors here and they seem to be quarreling with the plot itself. I must say it could have been written in a more organized manner but saying that, I must give the authors credit for the way they developed each character and the explicit description of whats going around. There is not many people whose writings make you really feel the story happening right in front of you.
