Although heavily laden with synth sounds, which could be thought of as a throw back to the Eighties, this album brings together the essentials for an afternoon's sitting out on the patio or up in your bedroom. The songs merge into one another, which on hearing for the first time, added to the evocative idea of time slowly drifting by, but on hearing for about the fifth time, begins to get slightly irritating, as it seems like there is no beginning or end to the songs. I think the strongest songs on the album are the most well known: Romeo, At Night, Another Point of View and Lazy. The rest just seemed to add to the monotonus ocean and beach beats. However for a chilled out day or night at the beach (preferably somewhere hot like Spain), or with your mates in your conservatory, it makes the ideal accompaniment.

Though it would seem a bit early in the year to have the word Ibiza in the title, Ministry of Sound have finally pulled together a selection of tunes which match the quality and diversity of the first two compilations in this series. The second cd is terrific, featuring a mid tempo house mix getting gradually slower towards the end then finally fading out with the levi jeans ad theme. The first cd is ok, but a bit patchwork in terms of sequencing. The songs range from up to the minute tracks like 'My Culture' and 'Lazy' and also has some fantastic 90's tracks from Propellerheads and Deep Dish with Everything but the Girl. The chillout genre has proved itself to be more than a passing phase and seems to be broadening in definition, which is a good thing. I reckon that if you feel the urge to spend your pocket money on a ministry brand compilation, (and there are a lot of them about at the moment) you should definately choose this one simply because of its range. Well done ministry.

With my experience with Ministry chillout compilations I had
a feeling this is going to happen...the first CD
is pretty laid back but the second CD is high tempo all the way(nothing extreme
but you can't call this chillout).
There is a decent selection of tracks but don't expect to chill with these CDs...

There's been some mention that the second disc is a bit on the fast side, it is - but I still find I can just lay back and let these tracks flow over me leaving me feeling relaxed, chilled and refreshed. There are some excellent tracks on here, and I love the way Ministry compilations mix from one track to the next, thus allowing you to completely immerse yourself in the wonderful sounds coming from your stereo.
I'm lucky enough to be allowed to listen to music at work, and this album really helps me beat the stresses of the day. These are modern chilled sounds, they're not hard house or too thumping on the bass to be able to relax to even though they're dance tracks. And it's a great album to wallow in the bath to!! Can't wait for the next sunny day in the garden sharing this with my neighbours!
If you like dance and like to let the music flow around you, this is a great buy, if you prefer your chillout sounds *very* chilled I'd stick to disc 1 or buy one of the classical chillout albums. But for it's genre I think it's one of the best.

I thought the house cd was AMAZZING! Played it hundreds of times as it is so warm sounding and easy to listen to. Great track order aswell. CD1 started with Romeo which gets on my nerves a tad but I can forgive those Jxx boys as they have had red alert which I have danced to many times off f my tits. So, you are lucky this time Jaxx boys. Not a bad cd1 just I would have maybe done a little differently. a 4/5 is where I place it.
