Perfectly designed to ignite the imagination --Italia!

Product Description

Your favourite little globetrotter will create a masterpiece of memories with The Children's Travel Journal. While on the road, this unique diary is a fun-filled work-in-progress. When completed, it becomes a treasured keepsake that vividly preserves memories of a special trip. The skies are alive with kids racking up frequent-flier miles, writes Travel and Leisure. The Children's Travel Journal keeps young globetrotters busy and entertained during any trip and also serves as a keepsake that vividly preserves their memories. The format is thoroughly kid-friendly. Pages on the right side of the book are ruled, with scattered words and phrases to prompt writing. For example, on the Restaurants page, kids are encouraged to think about new tastes and best desserts. The left-side pages are blank for drawing, pasting in mementos, and additional writing. Throughout are witty illustrations, maps, and borders that await the traveller's crayon.

Not what it seems 31 July 2008
Format:Spiral-bound
I bought this book for my son before there were any reviews or even a product desciption of it on Amazon.

It is only designed for one trip and we were looking for something that covered many of our travels, for a child.

It is basically black and white, and the child can start to fill in the details before they go on holiday.

There is a making plans section, a page to fill in about the destination, what kids want to pack, an address page(?), people, food & restaurants, museums & galleries, best/worst day and so on. There is also a small pocket at the back of the book for a small amount of souveniers. There are a few pages left blank for a childs own writing/pictures and so on.

On the whole a nice idea, but I feel a little too rigid for such a small book.

The idea of colouring in your own journal is novel but the illustrations are to fine to really do that.

As described before there are lots of different sections about your holiday. Lots of ideas what to write about BUT on all pages the 'ideas' are inside the pages with little spaces in between to fill it out. Not sure about that.
There is a page about language, where the words for different things have to be written in. A little ambitious. Another page is all about money. Surely it can't hurt to mention it but a complete section?
The back of each page is blank but there are no lines so it is for drawing? sticking something? There is ONE page that is for free writing for a day.

And finally my daughter's comment "This is horrible. Who would want something like that?" (She is 8 and has been keeping travel journals for the last two years)

Perfect travel journal for young kids 27 Mar 2001
By jalrdcd - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Spiral-bound
My daughter is delighted with this journal. It prompts a child to write about things they may not have thought about. It contains a lot of the same information that adult travel journals contain (e.g. record of expenses), but in a kid-friendly format with illustrations. I think it will be a great thing for keeping my daughter busy on the plane ride.

Absolutely adorable! 15 Jan 2010

Perfect combination of prompted writing and free space. If your child loves to draw or has pictures to paste in it, you can nearly make a scrapbook out of it and it will be a treasured keepsake later of a big trip. My child has little interest in drawing, but readily filled in the blanks and wrote about what he saw. Good find! Recommend for ages 6-12 or 13.

Great travel journal for my 8-year-old 14 Mar 2010
By M. Baker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Spiral-bound
My daughter has enjoyed working on this before the trip--coloring it, making maps and filling out the lists. I think the daily prompts are going to help to create a great keepsake to look back on from our trip to China. However, this journal seemed a bit too hard for her 5-year-old brother to use, so I bought a different one for him. This would be best for kids 8 and up.
