I and my sisters had a set of these encyclopaedias in the 1950's They are the most wonderful books i have ever read, and they kept us kids quiet for years....so much knowledge within, almost every subject under the sun....The equivelent of todays computers in respect of learning...No home with children should be without these great books of wisdom.

These books bring back such happy memories. My grandfather had bought an edition published in the late 1930's for my mother and her siblings. Some of my cousins and I read the same set in the 1970's and 1980's. Written in a style that was elegant and in a manner that appealed to childrens curiosity, they were a great pleasure to read and taught us a lot.

We had these books in the 60's, fantastic read kept me amused for years. Maybe dated these days but still very educational. I am very surprised on how cheap they're going.
