About the Author

Keith F. Goodnight is a native of Texas and distant relative of famed cowboy Charles Goodnight—the inventor of the chuck wagon. Born and raised in Dallas, he didn’t actually live in a library while growing up, but he tried. A graduate of Rice University and an alumnus of the Marching Owl Band, he once performed at halftime dressed as a Christmas tree. When not writing, he enjoys cooking and working on his model railroad. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

The writing style was clearly inexperienced with a slight tendency to over describe some things instead of trusting the readers imagination. The characters are well drawn and believable. The fictional science and engineering is also pretty believable. The story is incredibly exciting and I found it hard to put the book away and do some work! The ending was just a little unsatisfactory leaving me wanting more. Maybe it was deliberately made open to a sequel. I would also like to see a prequel on what the catastrophe event on Earth was. Overall, I am panting for more and I will watch this author carefully.

Best read yet. My imagination was captured from the outset. I was a little disappointed with the ending, felt the story.line wondered from the realm of science fiction into fantasy.

I story one can really get into, the sort of book you read slower and slower because you dont want it to end. I loved it.

For the money charged it was worth a punt and i took a chance and enjoyed what I read, a bit predictable but still well put together.
