Product Description

Product Description

Everyone knows someone they would describe as “charismatic”. They always make a strong and lasting first impression, have an air of confidence and a true presence. They build good rapport with people, make an impact and are remembered. How do they do this? Is there something they know or do differently to the rest of us? What makes them this way?

People aren’t born with charisma, it is a learned skill. The Charisma Effect helps you to develop your interpersonal skills so you too can make an impact immediately.

Drawing lessons from a successful and long-running two-day personal development programme, this is a tried, tested and trusted formula that reveals everything you need to be charismatic.

The book is a confused attempt to impart what charisma is. My guess is that the authors have simply assembled a bunch of material that they have gleaned from elsewhere (I'm sorry authors if that's not true - that's just my impression). I didn't feel that there was anything new or unexpected or even useful that I could use. Perhaps I'm not the right audience for the book as the previous reviewer seems to have loved the book.

Nothing useful here 20 Aug 2009

This book has very little to offer.
It says 'Confidence' but what about those Shy celebrities like Beyonce and Jeniffer Aniston who have an 'air' of shyness about them, which seems to BE their Charisma!
It says articulation, this one I will not disagree with, the way you speak is much more important than the words you use, for the most part...Then there's a lot of rubbish about how many big words you know and so and so forth....

Here's the TRUTH about what Charisma REALLY is...CHILD-LIKENESS.

Charismatic people are like 'grown up children', Their outlook is one of awe, excitement, passion, joy, desire to explore and discover, enjoyment of meeting new people...What does this sound like...A CHILD?

To be more Charismatic, just stop taking life so seriously, so ADULT-LIKE. Be a little more open, playful, cute and fun....Be full of hope, excitement, optimism...What you see in Barack Obama....Is everything you not wish to be..but what you USED to be.

PS: There's no real science or research to back up the claims, either.

I admit that the title sounded intriguing. Charisma is one of those qualities that I think most of us would like to have more of. The content of the book failed to deliver though. I started reading the book but got bored by about page 30. I started to realise that the book wasn't imparting any useful information so I changed tactic and started flicking through the book instead. I wanted to find some nuggets of useful information but couldn't find much that didn't already echo what I already know.
