If you are a cat-lover or interested in animal psychology then this book is for you. It is full of little known facts and scientific hypotheses on the behaviour and character of the domestic feline and supports its ideas with (humane) experimental evidence and scientific knowledge (such as genetics etc...). It is written in a way that will please both cat-lovers and those interested in popular science; it does not gush about the wonderfulness of cats but instead genuinally investigates why cats act the way they do. A truly riveting read.

I love this book and have bought several for cat loving friends . I love the information at the beginning about the domestic cat and its geographical spread of the different colours of cats . Insightfully written and an enjoyable semi academic book which is great to dip in and out of Would recommend

I you are a cat lover (like me) who has any curiosity about how cats think (also like me) then this is a must read. This book makes some of the mad things those adorable little furballs do make much more sense! The only reason I didn't give this 5 out of 5 was because it sometimes seems to go of on slight tangents at some points. A really good read.
