By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Although Dr. Bradley has, in his later works, come to see this book as "romanticized" rather than realistic about Celtic spirituality, it still provides the reader inundated with all things "Celtic" and wondering what is Christian about them a very readable introduction to the mainstream way of thinking about the Celtic Way.
Despite his own criticisms of the book which he addresses in his book on Making Myths and Chasing Dreams, he manages in the Celtic Way to avoid fake Druidism on the one extreme and purely academic treatises on the other. The complex developments in Celtic thought and the Celtic world require a fairly sophisticated background to truly understand and appreciate the nuances. This can be difficult for the average reader to follow, which makes this book a very good place to start. It is well-written, clear, and evocative without being trite or sentimental, and doesn't insult the intelligence of the reader while still clarifying basic ideas and concepts.

The Celtic Way 9 May 2011
By Jurie
Format:Paperback
An excellent and refreshing look at a growing interest in an old spirituality. with easy reading it explores the roots of the Celtic outlook on spirituality. It challenges some of the orthodox views on e.g Pelagianism and makes sense of our green understanding; living today.

It could probably do with some structuring inside each chapter, but since it evolved out of radio discussions that is understandable. reading it for the second time around.
