The Celtic Tree Oracle is a revealing and fascinating read. As someone who has been struggling to come to grips with reading the Tarot for years (and not really getting anywhere !) this is a system which is simple and refreshing; the condensed (or simpler) meaning attached to the cards can be learnt with relative ease - yet allows for deeper interpretation of the cards as the reader becomes more experienced. The initial feeling that this is a simplistic system of divination is not confused with shallowness, for the many and diverse symbols within each card allow for a myriad of differing results, depending on each individual situation being considered. The illustrations in both book and on the cards are truly inspiring and beautiful and can be meditated upon individually in the same way as Tarot. I would recommend this book and the cards to both beginners and experts in divinatory methods - those with a special affinity to trees and woodlands will also find them special, whether or not they use them as intended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutley Fantastic 17 July 2003
I came into possession of this deck when i was younger, my mum having owned it and passed it onto me, i played around a bit, then ignored it for years. when i finally began using it properly, i found that this deck was fantastic. not only are the cards beautiful, but the readings are accurate - im still in the stage where i pick a card (i tend to shuffle the cards, then pick a single card) and read the interpretation in the book, yet i almost always find the interpretation within the book is (spookily) accurate. its also persistant - i found that when asking the same question multiple times for different readings - i got the SAME card no less that four times, in a row!

a VERY nice set.

5.0 out of 5 stars A favourite of mine 8 Jan 2009
This is one of my favourite tools. It isn't that easy to use, the readings can be complex, but it is a rich and fascinating library of symbols and meanings. I recommend it highly.
