Book Description

26 Jun 2003
The book provides the reader with information on the unique aspects of the Celtic (as opposed to the Native American) shamanic tradition, as well as explaining clearly how the cards can be used to locate a personal familiar, or power animal. Techniques for using the cards as meditation aids are also explained. The cards are written from the viewpoint of traditional Celtic magical practice, by one of its best-known practitioners, rather than the Native American perspective of many rival decks. The card descriptions in the book provide the reader with fascinating background material on the lore and attributes of each animal archetype, and go on to show how the appearance of the animal in a spread should be interpreted from a practical, mental and spiritual perspective. Summary of pack contents: 25 full-colour cards (2-colour on reverse); 64-page monochrome book with b/w illustrations; attractive presentation box, printed four colour.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Celtic Animal Oracle 18 Jun 2004
Format:Paperback
This is a wonderful book to read. The cards are easy to use and the book is both inspirational and educational. It is a must for anyone who uses animal guides in their life and divination. It is also useful for those who are just staring out or want to get in touch with their animal spirit guide.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and evocative 28 Sep 2009

This deck served as my introduction to Divination. It is a small deck with images that combine art and photography seamlessly and beautifully. I find the interpretation of the animal cards in this deck to be very similar to those in the Druid Animal Oracle, but there are times when I still prefer this deck. The accompanying book has some nice poetry included in the pages describing each card. My only complaint about this deck is that the cards are not robust. I have used mine for years and they show wear quickly. The card backs have particularly lovely artwork. It is still my tried and true reliable oracle!
