**Without including spoilers** The Catalyst begins to tie the preternatural characters together, as well as, set the stage for something dramatic! The romance between Z and Fiona feels secondary compared to the action and events taking place in the book, however, it doesn't diminish the story in any way. I also recommend reading BloodLust & Save my Soul before this one. Zoe's books can stand alone but to really enjoy this one you will need the back story! I have thoughly enjoyed the preternatural series but, I have to admit Cain is by far my favorite Zoe character! I look forward to his story,LifeCycle, the most!

Zoe Withers is a lovely writer so reading her books is not exactly a difficult feat. There is also good continuity with the previous books in the series to orientate us back into the world she has created. One of the qualities of her writing that appeals is that her characters always have distinctly human qualities, annoying at times, but always lending them a vunerability that keeps us interested. In this case our were-panther has no idea of romance but we still fall in love with him just like our heroine. She cries and he is at his wits end. It is delightfully sweet and captivating. Can't wait to read the next one.

Zoe Winters has fast become one of my all time favorite authors. From the Blood Lust Trilogy all the way to this newest book in the Preternaturals series, she continues to write books that are easy to fall into an in love with. She artfully weaves all the various characters to create a flawless and entrancing series. I can't wait to find out what happens next in Life Cycle.
