Like all the Tales series this book is a collection of short stories. These stories have a general theme in common, the dark times after the Cataclysm. While many of the stories in there are merely good and readable there is one that is outstanding 'True Knight'. This book is not essential to read, but it is interesting. A nice thing about this book is like most of the Tales II series we are given a view of one of the most important events in the history of Krynn.

Captured the horror of the Cataclysm! 18 Jan 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
The Cataclysm is an event talked about in almost every Dragonlance book. We have been given hints of the destruction it caused Krynn. In this book, you get the full fury of what kind of an impact it made. The story on Lord Soth is by far the best short Drangonlance story I have ever read. This book has some of the most terrifying stories in the whole series. A must read for any fanof the saga.

The best fantasy short story book ever!!! 27 Nov 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I loved every single writer. I can't believe they meshed so well. The only problem I saw, was that they weren't longer; instead of just short stories, I would love a bunch of novels! A must read.

CATACLYSMIC!!!! ABSOLUTELY CATACLYSMIC!!!!!! 21 Jun 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I had been waiting since I started reading TSR 8 years ago for them to write more diverse stories of the times surrounding the cataclysm. It had been all too easy to picture the simplicity of the cataclysm after reading this book as before we knew the main facts in history not the Unsung Heroes of that time that were not recognise. I am pleased that this work was made to express that time oh so long ago in krynn history this will become one of the true classics of this series as expected I Highly recommend reading this.
