Format: Paperback
This book is based on the brand new adventures of "The Cat In The Hat" with his friends Nick and Sally. I have enjoyed Dr. Seuss all my life, especially for their simple English, their imaginative plots, creatures, places and rhyming. My parents read Dr. Seuss to me before I could read myself, and even as an adult of 25+ I still read the classics. I decided to try their new material, even though it isn't written by Dr. Seuss, to see if it would be useful or appropriate to give to my nephew, who is also learning to read right now. I was pleasantly surprised by this book, and will try others in the series.

Writing/ plot.
The Cat In The Hat has lost a hat in the forest of "Wagamaroo", and asks his two friends to help him find it. True to Seuss style, this book is both a poem and a story, rhyming cleverly and remaining engaging.

Excerpt:
"Here we go!" cried the Cat.
"Stay awake! Hold on tight!
We are off to find critters
who stay up all night!"

Suitable for ages...?
The book doesn't actually say. As a rule, I would say it is suitable for all, though for younger children I would remove the sticker sheets. The language is safe and the material completely inoffensive. This book could prove useful as a bedtime story for young toddlers, or assisted reading for children who are learning to read, or for children who can read on their own.

Illustrations and print quality.
This book is in full colour on every page, with quirky illustrations as a backdrop to the text. The paper is not flimsy at all, but still to be handled with the moderate care paper books deserve.

Size: Approximately 17x17cm, a square.
Pages: 15

Stickers.
You will receive 16 stickers, one is a large sticker of The Cat In The Hat.

My two little ones love all Cat in The Hat books but love these even more as they are from the new series on the TV which they watch all the time.

There's not as many pages in them compared to other CITH books, especially for the price, but the kids love them all the same

Another (short but) solid CITH title 17 Nov. 2012

We got a bunch of four dollar Cat in the Hat (CITH) books of various formats as party favors for my son's 4th birthday party. As you might expect, all of the books in this price range are no match for more expensive titles like Inside Your Outside: All About the Human Body (Cat in the Hat's Learning Library). Those more expensive titles generally offer more bang for the buck, but sometimes it's nice to have shorter stories when you're running late. I'm reviewing the cheaper ones in relation to each other.

I love the nightlife features nocturnal animals, complete with 15 small stickers which supposedly glow in the dark. These CITH format books remind me of Curious George titles like Curious George at the Aquarium. Both series are good but maybe CITH are a bit more educational. This one seems a bit shorter than others such as How Wet Can You Get? (Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat) (Pictureback(R)) but is still good.

Help your child or grandchild grow by leaps and bounds with any of the Dr. Seuss books. Thing One and Thing Two are my grandson's favorites.

My son really likes this PBS show and I love to get him books that tie into the programs he watches. It's a simple story where the Cat in the Hat has lost his hat and recruits Nick and Sally to help him find it. For some reason he makes them do it in the middle of the night. They ask various night time forest animals for assistance and learn a little about each animal's unique talents. I only thought it was odd that they mention it's one of the "darkest nights of the year", but the moon is out in all it's glory. Ah well. I really enjoy books that rhyme and at this price it's a nice addition to the collection even though the story could have been just a tad longer.

We used these books as give aways at a library Dr Seuss Birthday celebration.
The children were just thrilled to pick and take a book home.

My son loves this book. It is the same as the episode. He had a blast playing with the stickers too. Great idea.
