Have read a lot of Maggie Bennett's books and this one doesn't disappoint. The story revolves around the Munday family and the trials and tribulations of their three children. Ernest is struggling with his sexuality , Isabel is in love with the young vicar and Grace is a wayward little madam who only thinks of herself. World war one is looming , how will the family fare...........?

I like all Maggie Bennett,s books. The story is believable, the characters really come to life. The story centres around the effect that the war has on the Mindy family and the community that they live in. Good read, I really enjoyed this book.

I have read most of her books, this family has more than its share of ups and downs, and with the first world war playing a big part, it is a book you have to read what comes next.
