A pleasure to read! 21 July 2003
Format:Paperback
This book was a delight. I was looking for something to give me an idea of Carl Rogers work and life, that might prove useful in my counselling studies. It is all that and more. A very easy to read book, with a very personal style that gives real insight into the man and his work.

It contains case studies, autobiographical extracts and teachings from the great man himself without feeling like a reference book. It's more like sitting in a seminar and being imparted golden nuggets of information mined from his life's experience.

It is a fascinating and useful book that can be read from cover to cover, relevantly selected from or dipped into at will. If you have any interest in the way Carl Roger's mind works, then this is the book for you.

Carl Rogers 13 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
This is Carl Rogers at his best. It cannot be faulted being the ideal book to recommend to any of my students who wish to gain a better understanding of this man and his methods. This man is the best thing to happen to the 20thC and he will never be surpassed.

This book is a must for anyone studying or working in person centred counselling. It's excellent reference material and teaching will support the necessary requirements for academic work. It gives a wealth of indepth knowledge into the history & work of Carl Rogers the pioneer of person centred counselling. Also a very useful tool for all counsellors as empathy is discussed at great length. The book itself is pretty bulky and to read it from cover to cover would be a bit of a marathon but well worth it.
