This novella is a bit of a police procedural (the protagonist is an undercover agent for Interpol), part thriller, and at times feels like noir (bodies are stacking up, yet no character seems too bothered or finds that strange). However, amongst all the blood, guts, and intrigue, is an interesting question. Can you love someone who seems to be everything you are not and, if so, what might you do about it? A quick and enjoyable read that refused to follow the route I expected, zigging when I expected it to zag.

This was the first free book I have read and I was pleasantly surprised. I would read more from this author.

Overall, this was a good short book. It had a lot of good stuff drug dealers, espionage, undercover cop from a bad family, etc. At times I found that the writing could have expanded on the details and because it was a short novel, it came across as clunky at times.

I would have like a bit more character development, but that's sometimes hard to do with shorter books. I loved how it the last half of the book was no stop action and ended with a cliffhanger.
