This book is the best medicine that you can give to cancer patients. They are going to be very depressed and shocked by their diagnosis, and thinking that there is no hope. This is the best way to brighten their spirits. They should be told that there IS hope and there ARE very effective ways to combat cancer in addition to surgery, chemo and radiation.
This book summarizes the medical problem of cancer and then goes on to tell exactly how to fight it nutritionally. Each short chapter is helpful in describing what the problem is, what medicine has done about it and how cancer grows and evolves. It is especially helpful that ordinary language is used that most people can understand. For example, it is very interesting that raw vegetables can "starve" a cancer and sugar and carbohydrates can "feed" it.
At the end of the book, the authors lay out several nutrient programs from maintenance ("preventing cancer")to aggressive to intensive, depending on what stage of cancer the patient has. Each program simply lists all the vitamins, minerals and types of foods that are required for treatment.
To put everything in perspective, Appendix 2 lists all kinds of substances that have been touted to fight cancer, including broccoli, chili pepper, laetrile, copper, reservatrol (red wine) and all the factors in this book as well and honestly assesses the impact that each has had.
I can't say enough good things about this book. It should be placed in all cancer wards and schools, but of course it never will be, because it questions the established medical dogma, that everything that can work is being used. That won't stop you from buying it though.
If anyone in your family or any friend gets cancer, buy this book right away and make sure they read it. If they don't read it, read it to them.
