Susanna Kaysen's writing, as ever, draws you into reading. This book, like it's predicesor, is difficult to put down. However, those looking for a new 'Girl, Interupted', will be sorely dissapointed. 'The Camra My Mother Gave Me' is another autobiography, again focusing on a two-year period of Ms. Kaysen's life. This time however, she is much older, and is having trouble with her vagina. The book lists all the visits to doctors, herbal medics, more doctors... until the phantom pain in her vagina destroys her relationship with her boyfriend. Funny in places, and it will probabily be of interest to some, but I felt it just wasn't a good as her previous book.
