4.0 out of 5 stars New and Different Recipes 29 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The 5:2 Fast Diet Book was a completely new concept for me, although, I've now learned that it is a popular diet. The recipes here are new, different and easy to fix without being time consuming. (Although most had onions as an ingredient and I do not like onions.)

Kishore does a good job explaining the diet, the explanations are clear, simple and concise. Easy to follow. I was confused on some of the recipes that included things the dieter is supposed to stay away from, but as a person that's been on a diet for the past forty-five years, I enjoyed a new look at dieting.

I would recommend taking a look at this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed with this book. 10 Feb 2014
By Deborah TOP 500 REVIEWER

I've been doing the 5:2 or in my case 4:3 diet for months now and it works really well. I've never seen the horizon programme although I would like to, I discovered this diet later than most through a magazine in a waiting room, it was a small article just saying how well it works and the basic rules 500 kcals for 2, but never consecutive days. It seemed almost too good to be true but it does work, I've been away for weekends had meals and nights out, takeaways and still lost weight. I've never actually read a 5:2 book I've just worked out my own path which for me mainly involves soup, after my first couple of 500 days I was starving, not literally I know but I make a large pan of soup which I eat throughout the day, it fills me up and is full of healthy veg. In between this soup I use herbal teas, peppermint in my case to give me a break from water and I try not to have too many diet drinks, this for me works well so I was surprised to find that this book suggests avoiding herbal teas on fasting days. After my mini panic I checked to see if this was a general rule and so I tried the first 6 sites that came up from my search and they all advocated the drinking of herbal teas especially on fasting days. This book also states that the 2 fasting days do not need to be consecutive I was under the impression that they shouldn't be consecutive. A lot of the recipes are aimed firmly at the American market, one example being Sara Lee bread, it also uses foods it's told us to avoid, I was glad this book was free if not I'd be asking for a refund.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative! 22 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is a must have for an insight into the pros and cons of such a diet as well as tasty recipes which will help you fulfil your goal.

The book begins by explaining what this diet is and then tells the reader what to expect as well as possible side-effects which may result.

The recipes are varied and simple to follow. There is a great range of meals to suit all tastes and cover breakfast, lunch and snacks as well as main meals.

I felt I could trust the information the author was giving; the book is honest and a useful tool in the bewildering world of dieting.

I thought this was a diet for loosing weight quickly which was a general diet when I bought it. In fact it is a diet where you have days fasting. If you like fasting this is for you.
