No one can deny it, Ghetts has a blessed lyrical level WAY above average.. he pretty much strikes with his dazzling "multi-syllable" rhymes 100% of the time fracturing the instrumental like he was a Muay-Thai boxer trying to teach the punch bag a good lesson. I actually even remember hip hop heads who weren't particulary into Grime buying Ghetts (previously Ghetto) Cd's based on his creativety with wordss & raw skills.
Contents wise.. let's get into it.. he's never been the softest of writters,I think he actually suffers from that fortee of his, which is his aggression, not only are his topics pretty much all directly related to crime, beef in the endz, mugging, shottin' (& occasionaly, chicks) but it is also delivered in the most brutal of manners.. Although he does claim to have changed his aim somewhat, expalinning why he doesn't hate on the big money makers in the scene (" If Wiley hadn't make Rolex// then he wouldnt have made top 5 Doe Yet//"). I think he's realised it in theory but not in practise..!! I still can't help but think that if he really wanted that crossover to money rather than an eventual fade as an underground hero, than he'll have to deliver something much less aggressive (not to mention violent) ..it seems to me most people are fed up of that bad atmosphere in clubs & that's precisely why they are turning towards Dubstep & Funky.. ifnot Chipmunk & Tempah!
beatwise there is no weekness here, all the best producers, top level hardcore Grime.
