Product Description

The bible says, "Many are called, but few are chosen..." This mini-book examines the call of god on the lives of Pastors, Preachers and lay people. Ex-Preacher also addresses the argument that people who leave the faith must never have been truly saved in the first place. With real life testimonials from other ex-church leaders and ex-Christians this book is a must read for all those who have left the faith or are questioning their beliefs!

About the Author

For 15 years, the author was a successful evangelical preacher. He pioneered 2 churches and in the years prior to leaving his faith was the Associate Pastor of a 2,500+ member Pentecostal / Charismatic church. During these ministry years, he traveled and preached extensively both nationally and internationally at some of the most well known churches in the world. Pastors like Kenneth Hagin Jr, Brian Houston, Rodney Howard-Browne, Ray McCauley, Bob Nichols, Phil Pringle, Joseph Prince and many others, considered as close friends. “All those years I thought I was doing the right thing. I preached the good news of Jesus Christ and saw thousands of people “saved” during this time. After 15 years of ministry, I started to question the foundation of the beliefs I had held so firmly since childhood. I began to see the truth. The real truth. My journey from Faith to Apostasy, took ten years of soul-searching, research and more soul-searching, until I finally came to a startling conclusion; there is no personal God.” Through his books, blog and facebook page “I was an evangelical preacher,” he now preaches a different gospel. One without God.

3.0 out of 5 stars O.K. But not great! 21 Nov 2013

Not a bad book but I could have written one better I am sure, having been through much the same experiences and more. If one wants to write a book about the pitfalls of being part of the church it could be lot more interesting.

As an ex preacher myself (I went to a Bible School in Scotland that was an offshoot of the Rhema Bible Church /school in Tulsa, where I believe Ex Preacher went) I recommend this book.
Well done Ex P!

5.0 out of 5 stars Helped restore my atheism 1 July 2013

A very cleverly written, informative source of information for those who have lost their faith, and how they can deal with it. I had the strange experience of almost losing my atheism by being sucked into the Christian world through an odd set of circumstance, this helped me remember who I am, and why I don't believe. Thank you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Coming out of the Church? This may help 17 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I read this book with interest as an ex worship leader in an evangelical church in UK. I found myself nodding in agreement with a lot of the scenarios in the book. I needed affirmation that the experience I went through was not unique. The questioning (albeit with concern) of Christians, the 'not really saved' argument (which in my case could not be levied against me) and the old 'tempted by the Devil' argument.
If you have 'come out' and reclaimed your brain then this may help you to see the thought process your church will be going through. The last thing on their mind is that it was their fault.
I enjoyed the testimony of others quoted in the book but would like (and this may be a UK/USA language difference) to see some of the spelling errors sorted out for the first revision.
All in all a good little book, just long enough to make the points it needs to make and short enough to read quickly. Recommended
