This book is a mighty compendium of epic routes. Though older than the current edition the route descriptions are practically the same and the diagrams, though not photo topos, are more than adequate.
I opened the book and was transported instantly to a world of ice, snow and adventure. My rope, belayer and climbing gear were my companions as I battled my way up vertical faces, the wind whipping in my face and snow falling around me. I topped out to find a windswept world of snow and ice contorted into fantastic shapes and forms all around me. It was the most amazing thing.
I wept for the sheer beauty of it.
